OOParts

Here comes a relatively new Archetype introduced in the ZeXal series and used by III:

I proudly present you:

The OOParts’

Those cards are available in the booster pack “Return Of The Duelist”, that was released on April 14, 2012 (OCG). The TCG release will probably follow in early August 2012. (Source: http://www.squidoo.com/yugioh-return-of-the-duelist)

According to http://yugioh.wikia.com/  OOParts’ means Out-Of-Place-ARTifacts’.

As most of you won’t know the effects of some specific cards here’s some explanation along with DN Screenshots. This build focuses as you can assume heavily on bringing out some strong Rank 5 XYZ’s as fast as possible. But it can also rely on Rank 3/4 XYZ’s when special summoning monsters with LV 5 or higher is prohibited like when Verz Ophion is on the field (ok, actually it is called Evilswarm nowadays in TCG, but I like the term Verz more).

If necessary you can also bring out Rank 6 monsters too: Golden Shuttle -> Special Summon two Moai’s from Hand/Grave -> Shuttle’s effect -> two LV 6 Monsters

Crystal Bone

Crystal Bone

Can Special Summon an OOPart’s monster from hand OR grave AND can be special summoned if you got no monsters and your opponent has one or more. Nice effect and nice to topdeck.

Crystal Skull

Crystal Skull

The searcher of the deck, a Must-Have-At-3 in my opinion 😀 Really useful and gives the deck some consistency.

Golden Shuttle

Golden Shuttle

Once per turn you can increase the Level of all OOParts’ monsters you currently control by one. Nice for XYZ summon, you just have to summon him, either have Crystal Skull (search for Moai, use Shuttle’s effect first then Special summon Moai) or Moai himself in your hand and you can go for a Rank 5 XYZ, would say mostly Tiras, as it can survive for two of your rounds normally (as long as it doesn’t get Brio’d, compulsed, dimensioned or something similiar) .

Moai

Moai
This Level 5 monster can be special summoned into face-up defense position from hand if you have a face-up OOParts’ monster on the field. Should be the main target to get this card to the hand and XYZ summon some strong monster as fast as possible.

The Tricky

The Tricky

Another Level 5 monster that can be easily special summoned. you just have to drop one card from your hand.

Tour Guide/Sangan

Tour GuideSangan

The usual Rank 3 XYZ engine still useful and some fusion fodder for Evil Hero Dark Gaia as being fiend attribute, which can be summoned by Dark Calling.

Caius

Caius

Good to get rid of some monsters, and can be easily summoned as there are a lot of monsters which can be special summoned (Crystal Skull, Cyber Dragon, The Tricky, etc.). Is also useful to fuse for Dark Gaia.

Chaos Hunter

Chaos Hunter

The perfect counter for Chaos Dragon Decks, stops Chaos Sorcerer instantly and slows down Chaos Dragon Decks extremely if timed right. Still not sure if this is the right card to main deck, but it’s nice for fusing for Dark Gaia as she is a fiend, even if she gets wiped away by BLS’s second effect. Can be sided out in game 2, if this card is useless against the opponent (e.g. doesn’t special summon or doesn’t remove).

Neo-Spacian Grand Mole

Grand Mole

Nice Tech choice considering all the XYZ’s and synchros running around. helps for Dark Gaia too as it is a Rock-attribute monster.

OOParts’ Technology

Technology

Works somehow like Pot Of Duality: You have to banish an OOParts’ monster then you can reveal two cards from the top of your deck and add one of them to the hand, the other goes to the grave. You cannot Special Summon monsters this turn except for OOParts’ monsters.

It’s a nice thing, I usually use this for game 1 and side it out for some other counter measures.

Dark Calling

Dark Calling

As said before this card is used to remove a Rock and a Fiend monster from grave to special summon Evil HERO Dark Gaia, nice to topdeck or as a finisher move. This card saved my ass a lot of times 😀

Forbidden Lance

Forbidden Lance

Really helps against Torrential, Bottomless, Mirror and much more. Can also be used to reduce an opponents monster and kick him in the ass when he doesn’t expect it. Can also be used with Machu-Mach, I don’t recommend it, but it’s possible, theoretically…

Evil HERO Dark Gaia

Evil HERO Dark Gaia

Can be summoned with Dark Calling, and has a nice attack too. His attack is the sum of his fusion monsters and when he attacks you can switch all defense position monsters of your opponent to attack mode.

OOParts’ Crystal Xenoform

Xenoform/Crystal Alien

Can be XYZ’d with any Level 3 monsters, can’t be destroyed up to two rounds and your opponent takes any Damage involving this card, that you would have taken. It’s nice to have, but i prefer Zenmaines, instead of Xeno. Is called Crystal Alien, too. The http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/ says Crystal Alien, DN calls it Xenoform.

Number 33: OOParts’ Super Weapon, Machu-Mach

Machu-Mach

Not really that useful, I just put it in for the case that I play Technology and then have two Moai’s in hand, but can only special summon OOParts’ monsters. Works with Forbidden Lance, the only original OOParts combo which I consider somehow useful.

Tiras, Keeper Of Genesis

Tiras, Keeper Of Genesis

Favourite choice when summoning Rank 5 Monsters (Early Game), cannot be destroyed be card effects for two of your turns and can destroy a card after attacking or being attacked.

Adreus, Keeper Of Armageddon

Adreus, Keeper Of Armageddon

Depends on the situation, usually late game/mid game. Can only pop one face-up card of your opponent.

Gaia Dragon, The Thunder Charger

Gaia Dragon

You can Overlay him over a rank 5 or 6 monster, nice to have against some staller decks with Spirit Reaper, Marshmallon etc. Usually better to call out Tiras or Adreus, but if you don’t have any Material under them any more it’s good to have at least the piercing damage of Gaia.

Photon Strike Bounzer

Photon Strike Bounzer

Can be called by two Moai’s leveled up with Shuttle, sometimes really useful.

Number 6: Atlanthal

Atlanthal

Card Text:

  • 2 Level 6 monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target 1 “Number” monster in your Graveyard; equip that target to this card. This card gains ATK equal to half the ATK of the monster equipped to it by that effect. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then send the monster equipped to this card by that effect to the Graveyard; Halve your opponent’s Life Points. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase during the turn you activate this effect.

Same as Photon Strike Bouncer, can be called out even with Technology activated this turn. Halving opponents Life Points? Nice effect and solid stats.

Night Beam

Night Beam

Really nice card, I just put it in my side deck, but this card is really useful as your opponent can’t chain their card to the activation of this card, which destroys a set s/t.

Chain Disappearance

Chain Disappearance

Wrecks a lot of decks if timed right. Many monsters can be hit by this card: Inzektors (Hornet/Dragonfly), Dragunity, Hieratics (as the monster that are special summoned all have 0 ATK) and much more.
